Self-defense training makes you more effective at stopping an attempted assault and less likely to be targeted in the first place. It will also reduce your anxiety so you can freely embrace opportunities and explore the world with confidence.
In our course, you will learn interpersonal skills like situational awareness, boundary-setting and assertive communication as well as physical fighting skills like striking and escaping grabs and holds. This combination will prepare you to recognize warning signs and intervene before a situation becomes physical, but also to effectively resist a bigger, stronger attacker if necessary. We incorporate specially trained men as practice attackers.
A note to survivors: Self-defense training can play a powerful role in the healing process, but it can also surface painful memories. We intentionally provide a trauma-informed learning environment so you can have a safe and empowering experience. Please take the time you need to feel ready before taking a course.
WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE
This class includes 8 hours of in-person instruction and lifetime access to our online course. Offered in a 2-week or 4-week format for your convenience. This class centers the experiences of women, girls, femmes and those who have been socialized as women regardless of gender identity. LGBTQ+ inclusive. Ages 14+.
